I’ve already posted about two piece plus size bathing suits in an earlier blog, but I wanted to shift the focus to one piece swimsuits for plus size gals, and the fundamentals of what makes up a flattering suit. You can use these basic tips in your search for the perfect bathing suit! It’s already almost summer, so hurry up and get one before the selection dwindles!
While I prefer two piece suits, I realize one piece bathing suits are a staple for many women. They are a lot harder to find than two piece suits, even for plus size. A lot of the tankini style suits have taken over the plus size swim market, but there’s still a semi-decent selection of the classic one piece.
You don’t have to stick to plain black suits for that slimming effect. Proper bold colors and bright patterns can help slim you more.
Basic things to look for in a slimming suit:
- plunging , or sweetheart necklines
- tight fitting suits with ruching
- color blocking
- bold, bright patterns
- if opting for black, choose one with slight detailing, patterns or ruching for an extra slimming effect
