The Ultimate List of Places to Shop For Tall Women’s Clothing

I originally wrote out a few detailed lists for places to shop when you’re tall way back in 2013 – but I figured it was time for a major update for 2021!

Considering times have changed, stores have gone out of business, or merged with other companies, I wanted to compile an ultimate list to have a great resource page for anyone looking to buy clothing for tall women!

For tall girls, shopping for clothing can be so frustrating!

I know how difficult it is to find clothing that fits when you’re tall, especially over 5’10! So here are a few places that actually carry tall clothing lines. Unfortunately, most of these places only offer tall sizing online.

But there several stores where you can find longer-length pants in stores, at least. If you need anything over a 35” inseam, you’ll most likely have to look online.

Alloy is now an exclusive tall store. Inseam options are 35” and 37” for jeans, work pants, dress pants, leggings, joggers, and sweats! They also carry dresses, tops, cardigans, and even jackets that are made specifically for tall women.

Their pricing is mid-range but you can get good deals on some clearenace items.

Long Tall Sally

Long Tall Sally is a UK-based company, but they have a US version of their online shop too. They offer sizes 4-20 US (and 8-24 UK/AU)

I haven’t purchased clothing from Long Tall Sally in quite a while, and they were recently acquired by another company and their clothing may be different now than in years past.

However considering they’re an exclusive tall shop, it’s still a good place to check. They have everything from casual to work attire, coats, dresses, and swimsuits! They even have pajamas and loungewear.

Old Navy

Old Navy has a pretty large exclusive tall line on their website, and they even carry longer-length jeans in-store. However, for the specific tall clothing and tall pants (which have longer lengths than just their long sizes) – you’ll need to shop their website.

The quality of their clothing seems to vary greatly depending on the items you buy. Cheap tanks and shirts don’t hold up as well as some of their jeans, sweatshirts, or jogger-type pants.

But I still love them because the clothing is so affordable. I’ve purchased a ton of clothing from Old Navy’s tall line over the past year or two and I’m always satisfied. Overall I’ve had a great experience with them. You can even return anything you buy from their website to a store for free.

Everyone has probably heard of JCPenny, but if you shop online they have a section specifically for women over 5’10! They don’t just have longer-length pants either – they offer an entire line with everything from casual tops, jeans to work attire and even workout clothing. Sizes 0-20

I pro about JCPenny’s tall line is it’s one of the more affordable options out there, especially if you shop on sale! So if you’re trying to shop for tall clothing on a budget, it’s a place you must check.

I’ve gotten some great pieces from their tall line and would recommend you try it out.

You can even find 00 juniors sizing with up to a 37” inseam – if you’re a super skinny tall girl this might be your place to find jeans that fit!

I absolutely love Torrid, it’s one of my favorite places to shop. If you’re tall and plus size, I would recommend you try it out.

They have sizes 10 – 30, so if you are on the larger side it’s one of the better options out there.

They have pants/jeans with long AND extra-long inseams, plus carry lots of cute and trendy tunics and long tanks! Pricing is a bit high but the quality is great.

Where to find shoes if you wear women’s size 11+

This is one of my top recommendations if you’re trying to shoe shop online. They have an extremely large variety of women’s shoes in extended sizes, 11 – 15. They also have many wide-width options.

The great part of shopping Zappos is they allow free returns up to an entire year from the date of purchase.

Hey there, my name is Wendy. At nearly 6', I've always been one of the tallest girls I know. Believe me, I know how frustrating it is trying to find clothing that isn't long enough or doesn't fit properly! It has been and still continues to be sort of a struggle for me. I've come online to share my experiences and help my fellow tall girls! :)

Awesome thank you so much for sharing Ramona, I’ll have to look into Amallitalli

Long tall Sally used to have great clothes in good quality. No more. Horrible styles, cheap fabrics, poor fit, inconsistent sizes. I can no longer recommend them. Too bad.

Yeah also they’ve been bought out by another company now. They’re not what they once were that’s for sure.

    Hi Wendy,
I’m a 6’2″ girl and am always the tallest in the room! I also wear a size 14 women’s in shoes. Is there any way you can update your list this year? It looks like Long Tall Sally doesn’t carry shoes bigger than size 13 any more and I’ve been searching for size 14s for weeks!!

    • January 26, 2021 at 12:31 pm

Oh yes sorry I will update that! I’m pretty sure Long Tall Sally was bought out by another company so that’s probably why.

What type of shoes are you looking for? I wear a women’s 13 and even those don’t always fit me because they’re often too narrow. I find myself wearing mens’ shoes often… I just look for the most gender-neutral styles I can. Zappos has a lot of that type. It’s nearly impossible to find the cutesy-girly stuff. :( :( :(
